Throughout my career I have helped organisations, business owners and professionals develop confidence, improve performance and build successful businesses.
Today, my focus is on helping counsellors and therapists build sustainable private practices in a way that feels ethical, practical and aligned with their values.

MY BACKGROUND

My Background
​
Over the years I have worked with businesses ranging from small start-ups to established international organisations.
I have held senior leadership positions, including International Sales and Marketing Director roles within highly successful companies, where I was responsible for business growth, strategic development and commercial performance.

Alongside this, I have helped build and develop several small and medium-sized businesses, giving me a practical understanding of the challenges business owners face when trying to turn ideas into sustainable organisations.

This experience allows me to bring together business development, marketing, strategy and coaching in a way that is practical rather than theoretical.

Coaching, Writing and Professional Development
I am a Fellow of the Association for Coaching and have spent many years supporting people through coaching, development and personal growth.

I am also the author of coaching books and have developed my own coaching framework through my work helping individuals create positive and lasting change., and am currently working on my new coaching book the E.M.P.O.W.E.R method a transition model from counselling to coaching.

Coaching has always been about more than performance for me.

It is about helping people develop greater clarity, confidence and self-belief so they can move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

WHY I CREATED THIS SITE

​Why I Created Counsellor Practice Support.
I noticed with my wife being a Psychotherapist and Counsellor that although many counsellors receive excellent clinical training but receive relatively little support around the practical realities of building a private practice.
Websites, visibility, marketing, positioning, enquiries and business development can all feel overwhelming when they are outside your training and experience.

They often felt uncertain about websites, visibility, marketing, confidence in business decisions.
Counsellor practice Support was created to help bridge that gap in a practical, ethical and supportive way.

I wanted to create a service that offers practical support without pressure, jargon or unrealistic promises. And enabling them to do this themselves without relying on other people or services.
​
A place where counsellors can get help with the business side of private practice while remaining true to the values that brought them into the profession in the first place.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Helping You Become Independent, Not Dependent

One of the things I feel strongly about is helping people become more independent rather than more dependent.
​
Too many business owners are encouraged to rely on expensive agencies, consultants or service providers for tasks they could learn to understand and manage themselves.

My aim is not to create dependence on consultants, agencies or ongoing support.
​Wherever possible, I want counsellors to understand their website, visibility and business well enough to make confident decisions themselves. 
In short where appropriate, I would much rather help someone understand:

• how their website works;
• how visibility works;
• how enquiries are generated;
• how to make confident business decisions;
• how to develop their own voice and positioning.

That does not mean doing everything alone,

It means having the confidence and understanding to remain in control of your own business. (with my help but only when needed)
For me, that is one of the most rewarding aspects of this work.

A PERSONAL NOTE

A Personal Note:

The thing I enjoy most about this work is seeing people grow in confidence.

Watching somebody move from uncertainty and self-doubt to clarity and action is incredibly rewarding.
Whether that means helping a newly qualified counsellor launch their first website, supporting someone who wants to attract more enquiries, or helping an experienced practitioner think differently about the future of their practice, the aim is always the same.

​Having built businesses, coached individuals and written about personal and professional development, I understand how easy it can be to feel stuck, uncertain or overwhelmed.
My role is not to tell you what to do. It is to help you think more clearly, make better decisions and move forward with greater confidence.

To help people build something meaningful, sustainable and genuinely their own.
